Hace ya semanas que Google estrenó “nueva infraestructura”, es decir el así llamado BigDaddy-Update. En su blog, Bill Slawsky también analiza una nueva patente de Microsoft e intenta explicar o entender el significado de “insfraestructura” en el contexto de los motóres de búsqueda.

“The patent application describes how different ranking systems and ranking sets can be created and applied to the results of queries …. This type of configurable approach, where different rank sets can easily be moved in and out, appears to provide opportunities to try lots of different things. As an infrastructure improvement, it seems like an excellent idea. It may not have the appeal of a “pagerank” but you need some good infrastructure to go with your marquee ranking algorithms, too.”
